Angola ratified the Convention on 5 July 2002, and the Convention entered into force for Angola on 1 January 2003. On 14 September 2004, Angola submitted its initial transparency report which indicated that there were areas under Angola’s jurisdiction or control in which anti-personnel mines are known or suspected to be emplaced. In accordance with Article 5 of the Convention, Angola undertakes to destroy or ensure the destruction of all anti-personnel mines in these areas as soon as possible but not later than 1 January 2013. |
