Rwanda ratified the Convention on 8 June 2000, and the Convention entered into force for Rwanda on 1 December 2000. On 4 September 2001, Rwanda submitted its initial transparency report which indicated that there were areas under Rwanda’s jurisdiction or control in which anti-personnel mines are known or suspected to be emplaced. In accordance with Article 5 of the Convention, Rwanda undertakes to destroy or ensure the destruction of all anti-personnel mines in these areas as soon as possible but not later than 1 December 2010 |
