Chad ratified the Convention on 6 May 1999, and the Convention entered into force for Chad on 1 November 1999.

Stockpile Destruction (Article 4)

In its initial transparency report submitted on 29 April 2002, Chad reported stockpiled anti-personnel mines under its ownership or possession or under its jurisdiction or control. In its transparency report submitted in 1 September 2006, Chad reported that it had completed the destruction of all stockpiled anti-personnel mines. In total, Chad reported having destroyed 6,885 mines.

Mine Clearance (Article 5)

In its initial transparency report submitted on 29 April 2002, Chad reported areas known or suspected to contain anti-personnel mines under its control. On 20 September 2010 Chad submitted a request to extend its deadline for Article 5 compliance. The request was granted at the 10MSP and the deadline is now set for 1 January 2014.
