Eritrea acceded to the Convention on 27 August 2001, and the Convention entered into force for Eritrea on 1 February 2002. Mine Clearance (Article 5)On 3 September 2002, Eritrea submitted its initial transparency report which indicated that there were areas under Eritrea’s jurisdiction or control in which anti-personnel mines are known or suspected to be emplaced.
