Romania ratified the Convention on 30 November 2000, and the Convention entered into force for Romania on 1 May 2001.
Stockpile Destruction (Article 4)
In its initial transparency report submitted on 27 January 2002, Romania reported stockpiled anti-personnel mines under its ownership or possession or under its jurisdiction or control.
In 2004, Romania reported that it had completed the destruction of all stockpiled anti-personnel mines.
In total, Romania reported having destroyed 1,075,074 mines.
Mine Clearance (Article 5)
Romania reported that there were no mined areas under its jurisdiction or control.
