Presidency of the 23MSP

The Twenty-Third Meeting of the States Parties (23MSP) is set to take place at the United Nations Office in Geneva from 30 November to 4 December 2026.

At the conclusion of the Twenty-First Meeting of the States Parties in 2021, Zambia was elected to serve as President of the Twenty-Third Meeting of the States Parties. 

Her Excellency Eunice M. Tembo Luambia, Ambassador of Zambia to the United Nations in Geneva, is the first African woman to preside over a Meeting of the States Parties and the eight woman overall, since the Convention began its formal proceedings in 1999.

In addition to the 23MSP, Zambia will preside over the following meetings in 2026:

  • Pledging Conference (tbd)
  • Intersessional Meetings (tbc) 15-18 June 2026
