Côte d'Ivoire

Côte d’ Ivoire ratified the Convention on 30 June 2000, and the Convention entered into force for Côte d’ Ivoire on 1 December 2000.

Stockpile Destruction (Article 4)

Côte d’ Ivoire reported that it had no stockpiled anti-personnel mines under its ownership or possession.

Retained Mines (Article 3)

Notwithstanding the obligation to destroy all stockpiled anti-personnel mines, the Convention permits the retention of the minimum number of anti-personnel mines absolutely necessary for the development of and training in mine detection, mine clearance, or mine destruction techniques. As of 2014, Côte d’Ivoire has reported having retained 290 anti-personnel mines for these permitted purposes. These mines are used to train officers of the Côte d’Ivoire Republican Forces and the Gendarmerie Nationale.

Mine Clearance (Article 5)

Côte d’ Ivoire reported that there were no mined areas under its jurisdiction or control.
