Marshall Islands

The Republic of the Marshall Islands signed the Convention on 4 December 1997 and ratified on 13 March 2025. The Convention entered into force for the Marshall Islands on 1 September 2025.

Obligations under the Convention

The Republic of the Marshall Islands has 180 days after the Convention enters into force (1 March 2026) to submit a transparency report indicating its status under Article 3.

The Republic of the Marshall Islands has 180 days after the Convention enters into force to submit a transparency report indicating its status under Article 5.

Annually and no later than 30 April, each State Party is to update information covering the previous calendar year. The Republic of the Marshall Islands' initial transparency report is due 180 days after the Convention enters into force for the State Party on 1 March 2026.

Each State Party is to take all appropriate legal, administrative and other measures, including the imposition of penal sanctions, to prevent and suppress any activity prohibited to a State Party under this Convention undertaken by persons or on territory under its jurisdiction or control.

The Republic of the Marshall Islands will have 180 days after the Convention enters into force to submit a transparency report indicating its status under Article 9.
